Subverting Expectations with the Ricoh GrIIIx

I have been consistently using the Ricoh GR IIIx now for about six months, doing a bit of everything, from food to intermittent studio work. I feel now that I can wholeheartedly give it a double thumbs-up. I pair it frequently with the new mini TTartisan Gn12 speedlight and trigger for on the go work which with the leaf shutter in the Ricoh give you access to plenty of light to work with for some light food blogging work.

I have also been using it for street portraits with great effect. The 43mm equivalent lens is excellent for creating portraits with depth and a good bit of environment. It’s sharp, and the color rendition is excellent. The best part is that because of its compact size, it's always handy.

The place the camera truly astonished me was in the studio. When paired with a Godox Pentax trigger, you can take control of powerful studio lights to create some amazing portraits with such a small camera.

Overall, I can't recommend this camera enough for how much joy it has brought me and how easy it is to have on you for important or interesting moments.
